Nemesis

This is Nemesis.

He does not like me and pretty much the feeling is mutual.

He hides, yes hides under the table while growling at me all day long, making sure I understand I am not welcome in his home.

You see, I AM in HIS home.

He is my mother-in-laws dog. We are living with my in-laws while we clean the mold out of our house. You can read about that in previous posts.

I’m pretty sure he would bite me, if he thought no one would see him. He likes to get real close to my ankles while growling and barking and looking as ferocious as a little dog can look. Then he looks all around, nervously to see who would witness him.

He carefully weighs his options, all the while telling me how upset he is….then….decides maybe I’m not worth getting in trouble for. So he retreats to the table in full defensive mode as if he is daring me to crawl under the table….as if I’d even want to!

He hasn’t quite got the courage up to attack me, although he HAS bitten other family members. He must know my husband loves me more and would stand up for me… but who knows, maybe one day he will try.

One would think that after I lived in his house for 5 months a couple years ago when we lost our first house to black mold, you can read about that in earlier posts, that he would be used to me. I mean, I HAVE been married to his preferred boy for five years.

I even feed him treats from time to time.

My mother in law says he’s mad at me for taking his precious boy away…

Oh well, for now, we will agree to mutually dislike each other.

Goodnight Nemesis, may you rest your sweet vocal chords so they can be rejuvenated and full of strength in preparation for tomorrow’s onslaught of disapproval.

Welcome!

This site chronicles the journeys in life we are traveling with God. Some are joyous, others are trials, all come with blessings and lessons. We are surviving Lyme disease and black mold poisoning, learned how to farm and we are embarking on the new adventure of foster care.

 Here is our story about

keeping a childlike

wondrous view of the world and

keeping a little twinkle in your soul

along the way.
