Never Fail Noodles

Nothing warms my heart more than my grandma's homemade noodles.

They bring back memories of warm winter dinners, Christmas music playing, family laughing and twinkle light twinkling.

In fact Christmas is my favorite holiday and twinkle lights are my favorite lighting. I use them all year!

Back to noodles, we never had a family dinner without noodles, so it's only fitting that my first post on the Soul Food page is my grandma's noodles.

4 egg yolks (yes use yolks only, it DOES make a difference. They won't dry out otherwise)

4 Tbs evaporated milk, heavy cream or plain milk

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

Flour

Mix all together, add flour until you are able to roll it out. It will be somewhere around to 2 cups. Roll out the dough, and let it dry several hours. Cut into strips and freeze.

If they are not all the way dried and you don't freeze them, they will mold.

To cook: For my family I make 4 batches of noodles and add:

1 can cream of chicken

1 box of broth (or use broth from the Christmas ham mixed with 7Up!! Delish!!)

2 sticks of butter

Add more liquid if needed. Bring to boil and cook until noodles are tender.

Add flour to thicken if needed.

keeping a little twinkle in your soul

along the way.
